Warehouses and Wedding Invitations

So I’ve been naughty and not posted for the last few days…. however I have a valid excuse and will explain shortly! Just to let you know I haven’t fallen off the face of the planet (or fallen prey to an angry street cow)…

The plan originally this weekend was to go to Jaipur, the Pink City, as Will and I had managed to bag a free ride with one of the clients’ cars (otherwise a solid 6 hour bus/train ride, and saving around 500INR on fares) and spend a few days seeing the sights, or more concisely, the multiple forts  Jaipur seems to have. However, after being called to a meeting with our boss on Friday, we were told to stay in Jodhpur in order to organise the first two days of a large 4 day event for 120 people hosted in November. As he’s royalty, I can’t imagine anyone ever saying no and so we quickly cancelled all our previous plans. We had 24 hours in which prepare and finalise all our ideas! Craziness! It was probably one of the best weekends I’ve had so far though, as I love being able to get truly stuck into something! Plus there were no creative barriers – wonderful!

So all weekend I’ve been sketching, measuring, typing, thinking, speculating and testing. As one of the perks of the job, we got to go up to the ramparts of the Fort to watch a fireworks display and check it was visible (the Fort is shut to visitors that time of night due to the festival) and I also went to visit a large fabric / furniture warehouse with a crazy tuktuk man to collect samples and ideas. It’s all very, very exciting and should come to realisation in just over 2 weeks. In the meantime, I’ll keep you updated.

In other news, I have my first Jodhpur wedding reception invitation! Our favourite omelette salesman (Vicky) has decided he wants us to come to his wedding party on the 31st of October, which should be wonderful. A nice excuse to go and buy some Indian clothes and eat lots of sumptuous food if nothing else!

Our Wedding Invite….

Over and out x
